Welcome to Scribbles & Drabbles
Where Participants Fall for Tolkien
This Autumn Adventure starts with art. Then add words.
The minimums are scribbles and drabbles. Your limits are your own. |
The best thing about art
is anything can be art.
Part the First |
Part the Second |
Artists submit their art. All art submitted should be "finished" before it is submitted. Art is added to a super awesome presentation.
At the end of the submission period, artists who also want to write get first dibs at making claims. What are the expectations or limits on art?If you say it's art, it's art. You're the artist.
Digital art. Drawings. Paintings. Music. Playlists. Mood boards. Animations. Toilet paper tube Elves. Cosplay. Your pet in cosplay. Photos. Crafts. Calligraphy. Maps. Food. Finger-painting. Sculpture. Paper Bag Puppets. I could keep going, but you get the idea. When we say "finished", your results may vary. Maybe it took you thirty-six hours and its a fully realized acrylic painting. Maybe it's a doodle in a notebook. Whatever you call art, it's art. You can submit up to eleven pieces; the first three must be new for S&D, the rest can be new or can be older works (so long as they were not for a previous S&D or related type of venture). There is no guarantee there will be a match, but you'll still be part of the event. Once you submit, you are not able to un-submit, so please make sure what you submit is what you would like to put forth. |
Authors choose art to write for.
Each author can make up to three claims to start; as they finish pieces, they can return and make additional claims. Artwork can be claimed multiple times. What are the expectations or limits on stories? As the title says, it has to at least be a drabble (100 words). You can write multiple things for a single piece. You can write poetry. You can write a scene. You can write a dialogue exchange. You can write a 50,000 word story. (That's not really the point of this, but no one is going to stop you, certainly not the artist!) Plays. Podfics. Handwritten letters.
Again, I can probably list a bunch of other things, but, you get the idea. "Finished" here is also up to your interpretation. When the deadline arrives, share what you have. Tolkien had Unfinished Tales -- so can you. |
A picture is worth a thousand words,
but authors only have to write 100.
